Paoli dam is now a famous name in Bengali film industry. She started her carrier in 2003 as TV star in Bengali TV serials. And within no time she has been recognized as a good looking and talented artist in the industry. Her first serial was Jibon Niye Khela for ETV Bangla. Subsequently she started playing roles in Tarpor Chand Uthlo, Sonar Harin, Tithir Atithi and Jaya. In fact the negative character played by Paoli in Tithir Atithi was a major turning point in her career. People started noticing her after that and her work started getting appreciated.She was awarded by the Best Fresh Face Award of the year i2003 after the release of Kalbela.

Paoli Dam has been grown up in a joint family at Bowbazar of central Kolkata. Her interest in acting was from her very early age and used to do theater at Shishu Rangan in her childhood. She had interest in dance also and took dance lessons from Thankamani Kutti.
